Moving through the path of our lives is rarely a smooth journey. From birth to where we find ourselves now, we've each had our own particular experiences that shape how we see the world and how we live within it. As we approach or find ourselves in life situations that cause disruption and unexpected change, how we feel about these changes can leave us overwhelmed and uncertain. Going through the difficult stretches and events alone can leave us feeling stuck and isolated. Reaching out for support through counselling can provide us an ally in moving through a problem and help guide ourselves to stable ground.
Counselling can offer us a safe, nonjudgemental space to tell our story, feel heard and cared for, gain new perspective and figure out what we want to do next. My clients all come with their own unique narrative, obstacles, needs and desires. My role is to listen, to sit and help you sort through the feelings, the questions, and the wants. My approach is holistic and collaborative in nature and I will meet you where you are at. I believe you are the expert of yourself. I want to hear your story, and together we can sit with the hard parts, and move through the difficulties to a better place.

A woman's counselling experience can be best supported with a therapist who understands the particular dynamics of being a woman within the phases of her life, whether it be ...
The role of a woman takes many forms in our society and managing through it all we may find we lose a bit of ourselves in the process. Accepting support can be a beautiful start to feeling grounded, navigating change, finding our strengths, accessing resources, and creating a meaningful life that aligns with our values, needs and desires. If you would like to see if we might be a good fit, send a request to nicoladeanecounselling@gmail.com or through my contact page. I look forward to working with you.

There may come a time where deeper work comes calling. We often walk through our lives without thinking too deeply about why we do the things we do, and how we got to where we are. We may be unaware of patterns in our lives and in our relationships that aren't serving us well. Identifying and exploring the origins of existing patterns and behaviours can help us gain clarity and new perspective in our current lives, and in turn, allow us to envision and move toward positive change. With exploration, together we examine the story of your life; family dynamics, culture, the environment you grew up in, and significant life events. It is this exploration that helps us gain new insights about our past and our present, where we want to be, and how we want to feel. From here, we can start to write a new story. The process of deeper work may bring up difficult emotions, yet can offer wonderful insight and understanding of ourselves and what is possible.
